How do I read my tyre size?
Look on the sidewall for a code like 205/55 R16 91V. 205 is the width in millimetres, 55 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width, R16 means it fits a 16-inch rim, 91 is the load index and V is the speed rating.
When do my tyres need replacing?
The legal minimum tread depth in South Africa is 1 mm. Most tyres have small wear bars in the grooves. Once the tread is level with them, it's time. Cracks, bulges or cuts in the sidewall also mean replacement.
Why does my car pull to one side?
Usually it's wheel alignment, uneven tyre pressure or a worn suspension part. An alignment check is the quickest place to start.
Do I need to fit tyres in pairs?
Ideally yes, on the same axle. Matching tyres on an axle keeps braking and handling even. We'll advise based on how worn your other tyres are.
